We haven;t posted anything about Dragon Soul yet as far as progress. Truthfully the raid has started out pretty weak. The first four bosses weren't much of a challenge outside of getting position and combinations figured out. For all three raids, Prydain is on Deathwing already and there isn't much doubt he'll be dead at least by the end of next week. Dimen will be on Deathwing as well at least by next week. The 25 man should be on Deathwing by the end of next week also. It doesn't seem like Dragon Soul mechanics are nearly as bad as Firelands was with damage. The trash is almost nonexistant compared to Firelands. The fights don't seem to be nearly as long with phases with the exception of deathwing. The rps movie between each boss are ok but just kind of annoying. The end of Deathwing movie is pretty cheesy to say the least. On the plis side LFR has been a pleasant surprise. Despite the noobproof easiness of most encountrers, it has actually been a useful tool for practicing fights. The loot is good enough for upgrades and set bonuses to get rid of 378 gear from Firelands (in Fdragon's case 346 blue helms and ZA gear LOL). Overall, I'm not very impressed by the instance itself. The spine encounter is pretty cool but fighting deathwing's claws blah. I so wanted a full scale dragon encounter but I guess blizzard was trying to be different. The new five mans are decent with some unique encounters and I think most people like them except for the thrall escort. New Year on the horizon and I see the next expansion coming out at the very least by march. I doubt this content will last long.

I disagree Foto. You have to remember that we were 4/7 HM so our average raider's gear was a mix of Heroic and Normal gear. We were in a better position this tier than our last. My thoughts so far:

Morchok: Insanely easy both mechanically and tuning-wise. It's the intro encounter, whatever.

Yor'Sahj: Very fun fight. Different every time and you have to adapt. It can be challenging or easy depending on which comps you get. It's an adaptability check and is a cool fight.

Zon'ozz: We wiped on this for a while due to raid mechanics not being explained fully by the dungeon journal and us taking time to realize it. Once we realized the mechanics, it turned out to be a decently challenging fight for the healers if a bit boring. The ball bouncing mechanic is cool but a bit too passive. It'd be a lot more fun if it moved and bounced faster. Tuning seems good if a bit too high on Raid Damage

Hagara: Far too easy. Needs another mechanic during normal phases, but the frost and lightning phases are fun.

Ultraxion: My only complaint is that the fight becomes too easy if you overgear the fight DPS wise. Otherwise, it's a gear check and a well-executed one. We beat the enrage by 15 seconds and were about to die due to healing issues anyways. Considering our gear level, it might have been a bit overtuned but is otherwise good.

Blackhorn: Seems alright so far and decently challenging without being frustrated.

I like the fights so far and the pacing but there needs to be more fights. I can't stress enough how disappointed I am that blizzard dropped 2 small tiers back to back. Having an 8 boss tier for the last tier is unacceptable. The fights themselves are good, LFR is good and the new 5-mans are good but there's not enough raid content.

I think raid finder and easy modes could be the biggest feature introduced in awhile. However, after the 1st week when everyone is behaving well, it's starting to become a bit more...well....WELCOME TO WOW PLAYERS LFR! Chronic afks. Bots. Purposeful deaths by dps (variation of AFK). DPS pulling. Weekend casuals who fail completely (you know - the ones for whom the new 5 mans are big time progression).

I can't see how Blizz can avoid coming up with a Personal MMR-style rating for PvE.

On the other note - I think the encounters are almost all excellent, with the well-accepted point that the final one is not as compelling as most final bosses were. I do think Ultraxion should be a gear/skill check (skill being if you perform the best you can) - otherwise the fight is very easy (click a button all at the same time! Now just you 3! now all at the same time!).

Also for ultraxion, you'd beat the timer but a fair amount more if all dps pot'd. But this is a losing argument because I guess people can't afford pots somehow. (about 1/2 dps pot most times).

PvE MMR. Hilarity. The masses would scream if that was publicly implemented. I'm all for it though.

LFR - Ultraxion - Don't click the button. It's a dps loss. Healers should be able to handle it.

I refuse to click the button for LFR Ultraxion. Granted, the last time I did LFR Ultrax, I did 37k. The next closest person did 26k. I think my dps is worth it ^_^.

How would a PVE MMR possibly work? The only reason it works in PVP is because most PVP teams are 2v2 or 3v3. Your own personal impact on the team's performance is magnified greatly. You can't really carry somebody to 2400 in 2v2 if they're terrible lol. Same thing with 3's. Also, MMR isnt affected by PVP that you queue into with other random people. It's only affected if you manually make a group (For RBG or Arena). So let's say that they made a PVE MMR. You're in a high-end raiding guild so you have a great PVE MMR. What would that MMR even affect? If you do LFR? Why would someone in BiS gear even do MMR? Even if they did, they'd wait 6 hours to find enough people queued into LFR that match their MMR level. PVP MMR is used for Match-making against other players whereas PVE content is STATIC. There's one mode of "Easy" difficulty where your dropped into group with other randoms, and that's not going to change.

TL;DR: PVE MMR will never happen.

It's sad that I did 18.6k on baleroc normal a while ago and got 97th percentile. That was without threat gear, changing rotation etc. That was before vengeance change as well, but still... Im thinking that there's a lot of bad tanks out there since nobody really analyzes tank dps any more.
