Classes are one hour each. A night exam is an excuse to have a two hour exam. It allows the professor to test us on a little bit more material but also give us more time to think through each question. Basically, it allows the students who wouldn't do well to do well in a longer time span and increases the quality of the examination by broadening the spectrum of material covered. So you'll be done in an hour then, right?

My first college exam was my math entrance exam during my orientation. Unbeknownst to me, it was a computerized test that ended after you got so many answers wrong. Imagine my surprise when it took me an hour to finish my test as the rest of my class was glaring angrily at me for 30 minutes. I thought I must have been retarded or something. Nope. I got the highest score in my entire major and had to take 0 math classes as a result.
